In the past, for example on XP , we could re-pack the hard-disk space in order
to let the hard-disk work more efficiency and speed up computer performance.

I don't know the exact terminology of "re-packed", it seems refragement  something like that.

Question-1
Could we do the re-pack hard-disk on window 7 by some third-party software hard-disk management tools ? Or Window 7 has such tools ? Or window 7 will automatically take it care ?

Question-2
Is the re-pack hard-disk space improving computer performance on WIndow 7 (or XP in the past) ?
Why it will improve ?

The temp directory I pointed to is NOT using swap space - Just temporary files, the majority of which can be deleted.

Swap space is in System Volume Information. Do not try to manage this - it will manage itself. Likewise with WinSXS - let it manage itself.

Defragmenting is usually turned on and scheduled to run on Wednesdays at 01:00 by default in Windows 7, so you don't have to do it manually.

You can check it via right clicking "Computer", select "Manage", "Disk Management", then right clicking on the disk's Partitions and again select "Properties", the "Tools" tab, "Defragment now...", and there you can do it manually or change the settings.

But, if your PC uses an SSD instead of a conventional spinning HD, DON'T defrag (also that should be automatic, if the OS recognizes an SSD is being used, it should have turned that off automatically). SSD should never be defraged, as that reduces it's life-span.

You can look through c:usersusernameappdatalocal emp and delete temporary files. (check the folder on your machine for the exact location).

Then run Disk Cleanup to remove temporary files everywhere (this might take a while if you have never run it). Then run Disk Defrag to organize the drive. Both are Windows tools. Look in accessories, system tools for these.

Then clean up the HDD by deleting unnecessary data, then wipe the free space, align the partitions, defragment HDD and MFT.

As re-pack you seemingly mean align the sectors to the proper physical sectors.

Look what it does. As for the Windows 7 if it is a new installation of Windows then the partitions are aligned already. To speed up the system responsiveness you can compact MFT and use bigger cluster size.
