Do most laptop warranties transfer to the person who purchases the laptop from the original buyer?

Is this true for all major laptop manufacturers or only some laptop manufacturers?

if you buy it from another guy - ask for the buying receipt !

As I know,In general, most the laptop manufactures release warranty that is tied to the machine and is determined by the system type and serial number. The warranty is with the system, not the individual owner, so there is nothing to transfer. There may be some considerations for systems sold as refurbished, and buyers and sellers of systems should make sure that the particular model of system can be serviced in the country in which the new owner will use it.

If your warrant transfer I think you mean that is warrant responsibility transfer  between buyer and re-seller of the products. When you requests laptop repair from manufactures site,  they just want to  know what or where  your computer status is , and when the warrant is expired and additional charge after fix
