I am using IMAP to access my Gmail (paid Google Apps) account.

I am using Thunderbird on the computer at the office and Thunderbird on the Notebook.

Sometimes I have Thunderbird open at the office while I use it on the notebook as well.

It seems that although I use IMAP, I end up with a different sync state at the two computers. For instance, I am moving a couple of emails into folders (Labels on Gmail) and it seems all fine. But when I get to the office, they are still at the Inbox.

It almost seems like Gmail remembers state per client. But it could be something else.

I never had these problems before using other IMAP servers.

Is there something I could do about that?

Before answering your qesution,

Could you  open the Synchronization and Storage page in the Account Settings dialog (Tools | Account Settings...), and  look at
Message Synchronzing in which there a check box at keep message for this account on this computer ?

Is it checked or un-checked on both computer and notebook ?
