I have rebuilt a Toshiba laptop (Satellite C670D PSC4AE) with Windows 7 64-bit. I have installed the graphics driver from the Toshiba site. I have installed .net framework 4.5.1 (after a lot of difficulties!).
When I start the Catalyst Control Center to try to change the screen resolution I get an error message saying "AMD Catalyst Control Center cannot be started. There are currently no settings that can be configured using AMD Catalyst Control Center).
Does anyone know how I can fix this?
Thanks

No solution offered solved the problem. I solved it myself by using Driver Detective.
Accepted Solution

Yes, the customer is happy since I did solve the problem of getting the correct screen resolution, via Driver Detective rather than the ATI and Toshiba sites which were not effective in providing the correct driver. Many thanks.

Hi grapey100
You handed it back?
Ok hope the customer is happy with it.
please close your question or simply delete it if nothing really helps.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I will bear in mind for the future. I don't have the laptop any more - I had to hand it back to my customer.

I've always found CCC to be unreliable and a systems hog, so I take the Custom Install option and untick it. This should just leave the bare driver, and then you can use the standard Windows tools.

Well before you do
the area I would focus on is the motherboard drivers.
You said you >>I have rebuilt a Toshiba laptop (Satellite C670D PSC4AE) with Windows 7 64-bit. << and did you reinstall the motherboard drivers for your windows 7 x64?
what you said here also got me thinking>
I have installed .net framework 4.5.1 (after a lot of difficulties!).

I am closing this question down now. I am bypassing the AMD software and drivers and have reverted to using one of my Driver Detective licences which has sorted out the problem. Thanks for your suggestions.

run CCC as admin, and see if that helps
also - uninstalling CCC completely, and try with the latest driver for your video card - from ATI, or NVIDIA can help
