A customer brought a laptop running windows 7 to me the other day, and he wanted me to install windows live mail 2012 on it. When I attemped to do so, it claimed that windows live was already installed an would not allow me to re-install.
Windows live is not found in program features, nor in "all programs". The windows live folder is found in program files folder and also throughout the registry. However when I attempted to manually delete any folder or files, it says that I need permission from trustedInstaller to do so and when I attempted to change permissions to full control everything is grayed out so nothing can be changed.
I also attemtped to delete windows live registry entrees, all I get is "value cannot be deleted or modified" How do I overcome this issue?
I should mention is that I did remove quite a few viruses & malware from the system. I ran Malwarbytes, combofix, and Avast boot scan. The current antivirus program installed is Norton. (I un-installed Avast when I was through with the boot scan)
