I would like to ask some cookies questions for security on internet at
my vacation hotel for banking or at some public place
Question 1-
When I login my bank website with check the remember passwords box on IE browser at the comptuer at my holiday hotel for doing some cash transfer operation .My login name and passwords will be saved into the cookies and stored in the hotel comptuer such as
c:documents and settings\%user%local settings emporary internet files
Is it right ?
Question 2- When turn-off the computer before I check out the hotel room service, and
other one reboot the same computer by other new hotel guest or other room service people,
Do you think the cookies I login-ed before is still there ? If they are familar with
internet computer knowledge such as php, proxy do you think they can login into my account through
the cookies that I didn't delete ?
Question-3 Do you think bank website will set cookies expire date for customer, what
is the shortest period that can be set, one day, one hour or one minutes, how can I know
whether they set it for me so I feel this bank web site is safe ?
Question-4, OR is it no way to solve issue above besides NOT checking the remember
password box ?
Please advise

most modern browsers allow in-private browsing (Ctrl-Shift-P) which leaves no traces on your system

It is good if you use a private browsing option when exploring from Public places. This will not save your history.
In Internet Explorer 9, go to tools - Click 'InPrivate Browsing' this will not save the cookies.
In Mozilla, Go to Tools - Click 'Start Private Browsing'.
But still your password can be hacked if the computer is running any type of key logger software or screen capture software.

1, I would never access bank, or other similarly sensitive sites from a computer especially a public computer where I do not know whether it has been compromised with virus, key logger, etc.
The encryption occurs on the connection exchange that will prevent the data being intercepted during transport.
The analogy is that you hire an armor car to transport your money from point A to point B, some folks from an unknown source will pickup the money from you and deliver it to the armored car crew. The pickup and handoff to the guards of the armored car is the same exposure as you have when you enter your credentials on a computer you have in your example.

Now might I know what is meaning encryption.
encryption is for re-coding of my login info for transfter to
the bank website server for security issue during internet transfer
so hacker is not easily to hack into my account during my login submitting, is it right ?

Okay, one more question
After new logging into bank website, and then after only one minute, and then I
switch off my computer or by sudden hotel electricity shutdown, Do you think the encryption information for
my login will be on the computer ? ANd I leave the hotel, and
some one will reboot the computer, Do you think they can get
my encryption info and login into my acccount again ?
Just take careful considerstion for safe
Please advise

Re-send for typing mistake
As you know , after logging into bank account, after 10 minute or some
other min, if you don't type any thing or move any mouse to do something,
your bank account will be termiated automatically.
So I conclude it
1- Bank never save any cookie information about login and passward at temp directoru
2- After logging into bank account, bank will do encryption on your login and password
to save some where in your PC(no one knows where to put) FOR your operation
like doing cash transfer or stock buyinh
3- if you Don't activate the account more than some or 10 minutes, the bank will logout
and delete those encryption information created before at your PC
IS that right ?
Please advise

Since when login and logout my bank accout and quit my iE and then
I re-open IE and re-login my bank account, the bank website ask
me again login name and password, so I think the bank never
save any cookie info into my comuter for security issue
If I do the same as above for yahoo mail, account, i don't need
to re-type my login and passward because there is relate yahoo
cookie saving at my temp internet file directry
So I conclude my bank login website is safe, Is it ?

Banks do Not save your user name and password in your cookies. If they save anything, it will be an encrypted code that will tell them where to look in their records to identify you.
But even more than that, the link to your bank's web site is encrypted so that the network along the way can not be used to read your information and break into your account.

Sorry, I made mistake on my say above,
there is no any remember tick box on my bank website.
And I check when I go to yahoo email account, there is
option checking box for loginmaintaing status box
ANd I go a lot site, there is remember login information or password
tick box for user chose.
Os if there is no check box during my login on my bank website, I thnk
the bank already smart enough not to save any cookies at customer pc for security issue
Is it right ?

dont ever assume they "clear" just clear cookies on computer after doing banking.
Mozilla Firefox has an option to clear cookies after you exit program.

But When I go the temporary internet file directory at the pc,
i can not find any file name related to my bank website name or part of the name so
do you think my bank website login doesn't save any cookie at the computer
in other words, it might be safe ? Right ?
Please advise
