Recently I 've appled my first domain name and web hosting Linux server for my company project.
I would like to extract text data everyday from my customer website automatically in my web hosting domain server and save it to my server .I don't want to do it my PC since my PC is not always turn-on and stability and safe. And Finally, I ftp the data file from my web server to my PC and then do VB or VBA program for analysis
Now I am thinking the procedure to start the project. Please help to point the mistake in my procedure
Procedure-1: Apply domain and web host server (done)
Procedure-2: Learn how to use Javescript programmng to extract,save, delete data from website
Procedure-3: Learn how to use Javescript to save the data in XML format since I woule like to import it to Excel
program and do anaysis in VBA/VB program
Procedure-4: Learn how to use "Cron Job Manager" in Web hosting to scheule javascript running everyday

I know it is not easy for the whole project but at least I know my working direction is correct or not in order to save time since there is a lot of script and program language, server system & web interface to learn and know in this world.
Question-1. Could you comment my project procedure above
Question-2 DO you think I need Windows web hosting instead of Linux because I want to use VB program for my project ?
Question-3, DO you think Jave programming is better than Excel VBA/Visual Basis for data analysis and chart analysis , graphic plot
